Curriculum decisions are being made by the curriculum committee which is currently underway.  We are modeling Toledo Christian as a guide as we make these decisions.  TC uses a model that uses a classical focus with traditional aspects where it is determined beneficial.

Math and Science are crucial parts of the core curriclum.

That is up to the teachers.

There will testing to better understand student aptitude upon entrance.

Yes.  We have thorough documentation and organization thanks to our role model partner Toledo Christian and their generous help.

We will meet all state requirements for insurance.

Yes. This all depends on funding and need.

We don't expect this to be a problem.  On site education will be the standard we expect to achieve

Student Services

IEPs will be considered based on available resources.  This could be a challenge in years 1 and 2 based on resources but we trust God will provide in his timing and we are on board with meeting all challenges He provides the means to address.

We will work alongside the local school districts and put in place measures to accommodate to the standards.

Preschool is under consideration.

We are organized to target 14-20 students per classroom (teacher) with aids as needed.

We are open to 100% sack lunch being the norm with some parent volunteer meals provided on a regular basis.  As things progress, DCC has a very good kitchen facility that would make this entirely possible.  This depends on funding.

We plan to have uniforms. The research we have heard about improved classroom behavior with uniforms is very positive. Also, we are learning from Toledo Christian and they have a good experience with student uniforms.

Schedule & Facility

Final calander will be published closer to the start date but we expect to mirror Toledo Christian / Defiance, etc.

8:30am to 3:00pm, give or take.

We are now aiming for May 2024.

Security will be of utmost importance.  We have a solid plan to modify the entrance at the rear of the building to ensure 100% control of entry/exit during school hours.

Defiance Christian Church is the host facility.

Very little improvemants are needed to the facility. We expect to make some modifications for security in controlling entrance and exit to the facility during school hours.

Extracurricular & the Future

We desire to offer music and it all depends on the level of funding that is provided, but until DCA can provide this extracurricular there are opportunities to participate in public school music programs.

It is likely for year one that we will encourage enrollment in sports for a public school district of your choice which is already a common thing up to 7th grade.  In 7th grade and above, you are required to enrollin the school district you live in.  As soon as funding and people are available to lead DCA sports, we expect to begin the programs and become a powerhouse in the area for building leaders through every aspect of our school including athletics.

We intend to add a grade every year.  Ultimately depends on funding and enrollment.  As long as things progress as planned, as early as 2026
